The First Jam Urban Movement's Hip Hop camp in Mae-Sot is a statement of solidarity and hope for young people affected by the Myanmar crisis. It provides underprivileged and marginalized youth with practical skills and creative expression through Hip Hop, inspiring them, boosting self-esteem, and fostering community.
This week-long camp in Mae Sot, Thailand, caters to 100 migrant teenagers from Myanmar. They learn Rap, DJing, Graffiti, and Breakin, while also exploring the history, culture, and techniques of Hip Hop for a strong foundation in their future careers.
Our commitment was to create a supportive and inclusive environment. Participants receive lunch meals and refreshments throughout the camp, ensuring their well-being. The camp provides a safe space for self-expression and skill development.
By nurturing an inclusive environment, we aim to inspire participants to pursue their passions and dreams. The First Jam Urban Movement's mission is to support and achieve despite challenging circumstances, offering hope and inspiration to young people affected by the Myanmar crisis.
As a tradition, TFJ hosts a closing event showcasing participants' performances and featuring an open-style 1 vs. 1 battle for all competitors to experience the thrill of a real battle.
